No I didn't. I had them in my cart for about an hour.
I checked pictures online for the EG chestnut and they are lighter than they seem in the picture from the site. I definitely want something a bit darker.

Yeah, I'm hoping that they will have dark oak as an option in the coming season. That would be perfect.
I think I just prefer darker colors for boots. Guess we will find out soon enough. I think these will be my end game for boots.

I haven't shopped for any in years but that used to be the most common variety available. If your going to make a pair your end game you really would be hard pressed to find anything better to do it with.

Yeah, I've been wondering if they offer other widths than E that are ready to wear. When I tried them on, they were just a bit snug, I wonder if an F width will be available online or if I would have to have those made. The problem with getting them made is that if the F is too wide, I would be stuck with them.

For the most part E or the normal width is what most retailers will carry. Axels actually carries their D or narrow width. There was one retailer that carried the F width but the name escapes me right now. If I can think of it I'll PM with it. I think it may have been a Italian reseller. Skoaktiebolaget carried the F width once in awhile but typically this was for a few pair of shoes but they no longer carry Edward Green. You could check the Edward Green Appreciation thread on Styleforum and I am certain the retailer is mentioned there but you would have to do some searching or just post the question and someone might provide you with the answer. Of course there is no guarantee they have the boot configuration you are looking for but it's worth a shot. RTW typically is always a bit cheaper than MTO. Snug in the width would be fine as long as they are not tight. Shoes and boots will stretch a bit in the width just not in the length. I've started with snug shoes and boots often and they have been just fine. Just depends how snug your talking. Boots often tend to be a bit bigger on the same Last vs a shoe.

About 6 months old or so. AE Strandmoks. Wear in rotation of 6 different pairs of shoes. Both pairs of Strads I bought have heel separating. Not happy.

Sadly, I have given up on AE. The last few pairs seemed to have a plasticized finish that is a scuff magnet yet refuses to polish out. It almost seems like they have gone to a bonded leather.

I would contact their customer support. Often they have been willing to right the wrongs their quality control overlooks. Tends to happen when you mass produce these things at the level AE does. In fact their CEO once stated on Styleforum if their quality control where expected to be any better they simply couldn't afford to do business like they currently do but reminded everyone how good their customer service was.

I have been to the store and they have used some sort of glue to try to glue them back together. Not really acceptable in my opinion. Am I out of line with that thinking? It didn’t hold, obviously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I recommend calling Allen Edmonds customer support and see what they will do for you.

Seems like EG restocked the Galway 82 in dark brown and navy.
No new styles or colors yet. Been checking the site every day. Honestly, I'm hoping for a 202 in a medium to dark brown. Right now the 202 are only suede though. I think a 10 uk in the 202 would fit me best. |

Good Luck!!! Of course you could always pay the fee and go MTO if that doesn't work out.
