I've never been to England, but I think it is safe to say that the country has many accents and dialects and some are easier for English-speaking foreigners to understand.

I can take you places in the US where I can't understand a word of the English being spoken, but I would never pass such off as THE real American accent.

There really isn't one real American accent.
