5711 or 5712 at German ADs?
Hi all,
I am planning a trip to Frankfurt, Germany in a couple of months and was wondering if there is a chance for me to purchase either a 5711 blue or 5712 in Germany if I start calling around different ADs now. I know that the 5711 is a difficult piece to source regardless of the location but was hoping that I would be lucky enough to purchase one during my visit! Even though the 5712 is a bit over my budget, if there's a better chance of sourcing a 5712 during my visit, I wouldn't mind spending a bit more as well. Thanks! |

It is worth contacting some ADs and seeing what their responses are. You may be lucky and an AD may have a white 5711/1A in stock. A blue 5711/1A and 5712/1A are less likely.
However IMO contacting ADs a couple of months in advance may be too early for foreign ADs. Many ADs get emails all the time about available inventory and most people who email never follow up with a visit to the AD. I would say one or two weeks before the trip is more appropriate timing. |

Thanks jon jon.
I'm specifically looking for the blue dial, so I hope I get lucky sourcing either one of those two. I was considering reaching out to them early so that I could increase my chances as these are hard to find and usually all of them are spoken for. That being said, if I need to put down a deposit, I wouldn't mind that either. Does anyone else have experience finding one through cold-calling foreign ADs? |

From what I've heard, it's much harder to source a 5711/1A blue dial in Europe than it is in the US (MSRP is generally lower than US), but much easier in the middle east and asia, since the populous leans more towards precious metal models.

Forget it. German AD´s are advised from Patek to sell only to local clients.
To get a 5712 or 5711 the AD has to send Patek your information like Name, Adress, etc.. Patek then decides if you get one or not (and when). |

Good luck on that one, in Europe it's close to impossible, if you can take a quick trip to Switzerland maybe there, but EU countries very hard or impossible for those 2

I'm half German and I travel to Germany and Austria frequently and I haven't seen a single one at an AD in all my travels....luckily I have a 5711 that I got years ago when the wait lists weren't that crazy here in the US!
As an aside...buying in Germany is rarely a good idea as the concept of discounting is not common at watch retailers...not that you would get a discount on a 5711 anyway but in general price negotiating is tough over there. I've actually bought an Omega from my AD here in the US for my brother to give to his wife since they couldn't negotiate a price even close to what I could get here in the US. |

All you can do is try.
5711 for me, the other is A distant second.
