Patina
Hi all, will my Z-serial (2006) 16613lb develop patina on the dial? It does not have the "Swiss-T<25" on the dial. It only says "Swiss made". If so, how many years on average before patina develops?
Is it possible for patina to develop on the new 6 digit subs with chromalight? I was told by the AD - no. Here's a picture of my watch, thanks.

Thanks guys. How many years on average does it take before patina develops on the Tritium dials?

Depends on how it is worn and stored. My DRSD was found in the back of a drawer, it had been in there for years.

No patina on the luminous material because it's not tritium, as stated above.
However, it's possible you might develop patina on the dial itself, meaning fade or another effect. I've seen older blue dials turn an almost purple color through the years. Still, this is a newer dial so who knows what it could do over time, but if you're out in the sun a lot patina is possible, I'd imagine. |

I think patina develops from watches being stored out of the sun for long periods of time. Only the older pre-luminova watches will develop any on the luminous material. As far as patina on the dial is concerned, I think the older ones with true patina and not moisture damage developed it because of deficiencies in the paint or varnish that was used back then. The newer pieces most likely have been quality control so I would imagine they will not develop any patina.
