TRF Scammer: Sun-dail, I've been scammed

So I've been scammed by the user Sun-dail

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=603360
https://www.rolexforums.com/member.php?u=176790

his email is sundail.2va@gmail.com

He was selling a daytona, wondering if anyone else contacted this person and bought from him.

Banked him the money and he gave a fraudulent shipment site from http://nextglobalcourier.com/tracking/index.html

He also gave references as these
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...light=sun-dail
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...light=sun-dail

These are his banking details
Bank name: Bank of America
Account name: Myles Gilford
Account number: 334040212656
Bank address: 1200 Mt Zion RD, Morrow GA 30260
Routing number: 061000052
Home address: 238 Indian Branch Way Lawrenceville GA 30043
Swift code: BOFAUS6S

Will be making a police report and see what can be done. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Post Count?

This may not help, but did you notice the Low Post Count of the references? However, information (Return Address Information) from these buyers may be helpful To The Police.

Interesting he signed up in Feb 2017 but his first post was Jan this year and quite prolifically since. From his FS listings there could be more victims.

Activity of the 'references' is also very suspicious. I'm guessing those accounts were either hacked or registered by perp and then posts made by scammer to give impression of an active account by legitimate TRF members. The 'fluffing' seems to have started in Jan 2018 in preparation of the scam.

Not so much low post count as they are quite high IMO rather the posting activity is waving red flags. Seems to have started in Jan this year even though accounts registered over 18 months ago

I didn't hear from you, did you report to all of us?
Anyway, I have banned Sun-dail and the two that gave him references (both were in Florida at the time, though their profile says elsewhere in the country, so it was probably all the same person.) Let me look into it some more.

I used the contact us option under the site. Now I'm making a police report and reporting to the banks to trace the flow of money and try to freeze their account.

Not sure if it helps but seller originally registered from an address in Ohio, but posted the ad from Secaucus, New Jersey. His sign up email was sundail.2va@gmail.com

Good Point, and Even MORE Indicative that a scam was being set up.

Terrible. It's becoming very difficult to buy on the forum.

I hope TRF is able to scan for different username with duplicate IP address.

Good luck OP. Do you have his phone contact info?

Actually no it isn't and is as easy as ever. Also people don't bu I can't tell you how many times we have warned people over and over again not to buy from unknown sellers with little to no feedback. There are many great well known sellers to choose from that have great inventory. Nobody has ever been burnt by them and they are all good guys. So if one wants to step out there and roll the dice to save a few bucks and deal with an unwon then they choose to play russian roulette. Not a smart choice in my book and not anything I would ever consider doing with my hard earned money. So lots of great well known trusted options here which makes it more than easy and no need to step out into the danger zone.

Absolutely correct... every "been scammed" thread I have ever seen always ends with a myriad of red flags that were overlooked.... very sorry for the buyer... the post has been taken down but I'm going to assume the amount sent was around $10k...

Exactly this I've done a bunch of deals based on people who sell on TRF. Never been burned once. Know why? I can count on one hand the people who I'd buy from for a modern watch. Vintage probably another two.

Do your homework people. If a deal is too good to be true it probably is.

Yep, that was them. Notice how scammer continuously misspells dial. A lot of time and effort went into laying the ground work for this scam. Wonder if the photos had been lifted from another site.
Googling the contact email also fails to get any hits which to me is another red flag.

TRF Scammer: Sun-dail, I've been scammed

Also the pics show a brick home and the home address is a brick home.

OP. Make sure you report it to the FBI internet fraud group.

Gilford is the surname associated with that address on the tax records. If I was OP I'd be contacting the homeowner (probably father) and see how they respond. Also contact local law enforcement.

This bad actor shouldn't be too tough to track down.

I found John W. Gilford as a Project Manager at GTC Corporation on LinkedIn - I found a Myles Gilford in Georgia on Facebook. John is unable to spell corporation on his LinkedIn. I have a screenshot of Myles' photo from Facebook if it's the same character. Just in case his facebook profile disappears!

John is the father (home owner) so Myles must be the son.

Really sorry to hear this.

I wasn't suspicious but must admit when I saw his ad I was slightly tempted as his White Daytona price was already low compared to others and even had ONO.

In the end I reached out to a trusted seller with a huge solid reputation regardless of the price difference for peace of mind / safety.

Really hope you track him down and get your money back

Yes, seems like amateur-hour op here. GL to the OP. This is a good starting point, especially as the perp appears based in US.

This is the same person I reported about on WUS. The picture is exactly the same if I am not mistaken.

He used the name Ignacio Carin, more importantly the images were the same.

That thread on WUS has since been deleted.
