What sunglasses are you wearing

I have a pair of Costas that have been to hell and back, and I am looking for a new pair. What are you wearing and what brands have you had a good experience with?

I’m one of the unfortunate ones who require ludicrously overpriced prescription sunglasses.

I have Ray Ban and they are bloody brilliant!

Driving, holidays and can hold their own in a poncy wine bars beer garden etc.

Just bought 2 pairs of Maui Jim’s. The bronze mirrored lens is what I wear daily for driving and walking outside. My red mirrored lens is more sporty and what I use for outdoor activities (fly fishing, golf, running).

40% discount for medical professionals btw.

Ray ban new wayfarer. Been wearing them forever. They sort of work with everything, and a few pairs i have still look good and work well even with scratches.

Maui’s for me. I’m a sailor and spend a lot of time on the water. A few years ago someone had a pair and once I tried them side by side with the RB I had at the time, there was simply no comparison.
Expensive but worth every penny for me. If you need prescription like I do make sure you insist on getting the MJ lens as some optometrists will swap for generic which defeats the purpose

Another vote for Maui Jim’s. I’ve had mine now for over 8 years, still as good as new.

I have a decent number from a number of brands.

However I prefer and wear Oakley mainly because of their ear socks. I just could never stand the standard ear pieces going around the ear. But as I said I have a number of others and will wear them from time to time but Oakleys ear pieces are a winner for me.

Actually I even got my old man reading glasses done in a pair of oakleys. One for home one in car. Mainly because they are reading glasses and don't need them for anything other than reading. But this way I have a pair whenever I need them.

Maui Jim’s and Oakley’s.
I’m sort of a sunglass nut and have about 8 pairs.

Wearing an 18 year old pair of Oakley Whispers... they have been long out of production, but I love them.

30+ years in the eye care field and Maui Jim’s are always the first choice but I have a real problem - maybe 30-40 pair of all kinds of sunglasses.
90% of the time it is MJ, Costa or RB.

Should purge the crazy designer stuff, I suppose.

Just one pair? Can't be done. I don't believe it.

My faves are Persol, followed by Tom Ford if you need 'dress up' sunglasses. A classic pair of glass lens Ray-Ban are always in style (and easy to source replacement lenses).

I’ve recently started wearing Persol sunglasses which I really like BUT I haven’t found any sunglasses that give as good visual clarity as my Oakleys.

Maui Jim Mavericks - gold frames and HCL Bronze lens. Stylish aviators with super light frames (titanium). I wear nothing but Maui Jims. My pair before this was the Wiki Wiki.

So I own a pair of Costa Harpoons, just had the lenses replaced (they’re 580 glass) and after one use cutting metal with a chop saw and one use hanging on my neck while welding the inside and outside of the lenses have pits.

That being said it’s my fault completely.

While my harpoons were in to service for new lenses I bought a pair of Maui Jim’s.

They were great, except their lenses aren’t glass. They’re plastic. This my Maui Jim’s are now nuked with scratches.

I bought another pair of costas (to be worn when there is absolutely no manual labor around). They’re good so far (580 glass lenses as well) however it’s only been a few weeks.

I have a pair of ray ban club masters on the way and can’t comment on those as I have t received them yet.

I liked revo glasses back in the day but can’t find them anymore.

Some are plastic and some are glass. Only go for the glass models IMO

The only pair of Maui’s I liked had plastic lenses. Unfortunately $280 down the drain. And they’ve already broken and been replaced once.

Costas are my choice for casual wear but at the track the glass could get shattered with one drop.

Oakley Oil or Gas do best for track or active wear due to polycarbonate.

Lenses scratch a bit easily, but block light rays very well, and are light and comfortable.
