The more I learn about this, the more baffled I am that they didn't just amicably call it quits much earlier.

They didn't have children. They both had plenty of money and jobs. They both were plenty capable of meeting other people.

What exactly did they have to gain by continuing to be miserable?

It sounds reasonable until you get in a relationship like that.

It's like all failed relationships - the parties feel compelled to vindicate themselves.
With the rest of us, nobody cares, so we soon stop this, but with the famous (particularly entertainers) all the 'enablers' out there encourage this kind of behaviour which panders to the performer's natural tendancy to want to perform.

People who remain in unrewarding relationships are often unconsciously trying to resolve much earlier wounds by successfully “repairing” a current, damaged manifestation of these older relational dynamics.

Not in my opinion but I guess I say this from the perspective that the consequences or potential fall out from this thing are insignificant and the bottom line is these are just two examples of people where disfunction in our society exist.

The real disfunction with very serious consequences are the ones that matter most to me and I find so objectionable. Fortunately or unfortunately we can't and don't talk about those things here.

But one example we can discuss is todays workforce. I mean if that's what you would like to call it. That for an older person like myself is really bizarre and that does actual have consequences. But I guess for those who no know no different they might call that kind of thing normal.

Without a public appetite for this carnival, there would be no audience. Hence no point to the show.

But on a positive note, I am sure the lawyers and experts are being well paid.

Although you make a good point (By the way I'm not watching this stupid circus) the numbers you need to make a show a success are no where near what they once were. I don't know what the minimum or floor is now but it's certainly a lot less than they once were. If your able to somehow coble together five million viewers somehow your considered viable. I'll bet you this trial is getting much higher than this. Besides practically everything is reality TV this and reality TV that anymore. You can't tell me the U.S. isn't hooked on this stupid crap. I'm pretty sure PT Barnum would have loved this kind of stuff.

Heard is appealing.

The show must go on, as they say.

Apparently, Heard doesn't have the money to pay Depp. Will her legal team take on the risk of lodging an appeal?

Did you find it funny that she dressed up for her own funeral or was it just me?

“Tell the world, Johnny Depp, tell them, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I am a victim too of domestic violence, and see how many people believe or side with you.”—Amber Heard

OK

She should do okay on onlyfans.
