Timed Out

If I'm in the forum, and I walk away from my computer for a short time, when I return, I've been timed out and I have to log in again. This seems to be happening more and more over the past couple of days. Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

It's a "session expired auto logout" feature of the software and as such is a security device.

The same sort of thing as when you are in your Paypal account or Internet banking without activity for 10-15 minutes.

It logs you out to prevent someone else from being able to assume your identity.

I'm familiar with that concept, but.....how come Alcan can walk away from his computer for HOURS and not be timed out?

I'm not sure why it does that. Nancy and I have 2 computers in the same house, using the same hub and server, but she times out. The only thing I can think is that she's running XP and I still have ME. Maybe something in the program settings?

Must be. Does it time out only with TRF or with any site? Because if it times out with any site, it could be in your settings somewhere.

Are you checking the 'Remember this computer' checkbox when you log in, Nancy? If you don't, your session will time out after xxxx minutes. If you're not checking it, DO and that should solve the issue.

I'll give that a try and see if it makes a difference! Thanks!

Actually it's called "Remember Me?" (apparently I couldn't)... If you haven't been checking it on log in, it'll fix the problem.

It worked! I had to run upstairs several times to do stuff (gotta love multi-tasking) and each time I returned, the whole gang was still here!

Thanks!!!!
