Need some help with vintage Rolex
Hello all, haven't been here in a while but I need some help with a vintage piece. It belonged to a friend's grandfather. My friend is not a wis but would like some info on it so he loaned it to me so that I could try to help him. All I know is that it has been serviced in Dallas by a jeweler but not RSC...I think it's too old anyway. The bracelet isn't original and he thinks the crystal has been polished. My questions are, does anyone know the reference number? The approximate year it was made, and does the dial and hands look correct? Thanks in advance for any insight!

I don't see any "swiss" markings below 6 o'clock. Lugs look polished a few times. If you take the bracelet off you should have ref. And sn.

I would guess a 6565 from 56 / 57 or so
I had a similar one with the pearl textured dial a couple years ago - you need to see it in the sunlight for full effect. Yours does look refinished. They do not have a lot of value, particularly when refinished but they wear well.

Reference 6284 mid 50's
Same as 6084 but with screw down crown and separate bezel and case. Dial is refinished. |
