My first vintage purchase...

A 1968 5513, not exactly birth year but close enough to get me to take the plunge. What would this pair well with as I start a vintage collection?

Thanks

Everything pairs well with a Daytona 6263!

Congrats. Very nice looking Sub. Like that smoky insert. A 1675 would be a sensible choice. If you like 36mm a 1016 is another option.

Agree that a 1675 would be a great next choice....as would a 1016 as suggested...great first though....lovely example of a 5513 you've got there. Congrats.

This...but a real commitment. 1675 or 1016 is probably more realistic for newcomers.

Thanks to everyone for providing info and a basis for comparison. Managed to see in person 4 examples and this one sang to me. I loved the grey fade.

I agree a 1016 would be the perfect stable mate, I know they're getting hard to come across, and perhaps in the meantime, perhaps an Air King 5500, IMHO that would sit well too, especially with a black dial, and could be easily flipped later.

Nice! I'd pair a dress watch with it. 1601 or 1603.

Just curious, what's the caseback date? A '67 can go up to 1.9 mill. Does it actually have a 68 caseback or a 4 quarter '67?

Oh, this doesn't sound good. What happened? I'm curious about this purchase, because I know about this seller. The paperwork was suspect too.

Sorry for the misread. The watch is fine. I was just a dope in not showing the right side of the case bottom in responding to an earlier question. Classic watch was very professional. In fact they confirmed case bottom wa a 1968.

Again sorry.
