Is this a new bezel on the Wimbledon/Federer dial?

Is this smooth bezel on the Wimbledon dial something new or did I miss it from last year and just now catching it?

Stunning dial! Is it available on any other models or just this specific DJ configuration?

Thank you.

Too bad....if they had it on a steel & gold DJ with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, I'd buy it today!

Now they do! And I have one on a DJ41 126333 on hold for me at my AD for Thursday.

The dial was first seen on the DJ2 but didn't launch with the DJ41.

The configurator hasn't been updated yet, so you can't see the combination there but I had it on my wrist last Saturday while trying to decide whether to go for the "Wimbledon" dial or plain silver (the latter is spoilt imo by the white of the lume on the gold edged baton markers).

I don't know but I think it's a new DJ41.

It wasn't announced or anything, but just started showing up. Which is kind of odd.

I will stand corrected if wrong, however.

Guys, that is affectionately known as the Wimbledon dial
The single lume baton marker adds balance to dial and provides some illumination to the Roman numerals in low lighting.I could still read the time in the dark immediately as soon as the AD room lights were switched off! Now that's a brilliant touch !

You're both right

Rolex HQ told Roger to go out and win Wimbledon this year to help move old stock and promote the new

Yes, the single lumed baton at 9 had me in two minds at first. But then I had the same two theories: 1/ to balance the dial as other dials with Roman numerals all round, including the "IX" at 9, look a little unbalanced due to the cyclops, and 2/ if the watch is on its side on your bedside table at night you know what time it is thanks to the lume on the hands and at 9.

There is one other theory for the single "white" baton, the white date background, and the green edged numerals either side of them...

For me it has to be the jubilee and fluted look. Not only more dazzling, but after having an oyster bracelet on my recently acquired 16610, this combination shrugs off scratches far better than the brushed stainless expanses of the Sub.

But... IS the Wimbledon dial going to be a classic? No worries, RSC St.James advise it's just £400 to change to another dial at service time. I'm 99% certain it's the one for me.
