You made a wise decision.

You can buy some nice, real, automatic watches for around $150-$200--Seiko, Orient, to name two.

I'm very fond of my BLNR and I've never seen one in the wild--ever.

Of course, I don't get out much anymore!

I hope he enjoys it like I will.
I am also in the process if getting my dad's Seiko from my birth year restored.

Thank you all for the warm welcome

When the kid is done from day care, maybe I can talk the wife into getting a his and hers

DJ is definitely a dressier watch. I was looking at a two tone chocolate dial DJ a couple of months ago. Ended up getting 2 sports SS instead... ha ha.
Still planning on getting a DJ (or the new Sky Dweller) in the future.
Matching DJ will be nice. Enjoy the new toy!! I am waiting impatiently for mine today.

OP, the BLNR is an amazing first Rolex (my first as well). It goes with basically anything.

I've never seen a BLNR in the wild either up here in New England. I'm sure there are bound to be quite a few, but my eyes have never caught any.

Congratulations, great story. Enjoy the watch, it will hold its value better than the Miata.

I actually got it up there. AD is close to Costco. And when they got back to me regarding availability, it sounded like they have quite a few in stock across their stores.
