My Dad's old Rolex (model Depose) - would love to get some more information!

Hey guys - I recently stopped by my parents house and finally got to take a look at my dads old Rolex. I asked this on WUS, but with limited response, thought I'd ask here as well.

He used to work for a jeweler long ago, and somebody had traded this in, in non-working condition. He had it repaired once or twice over the years, but as he's very hard on his watches, eventually it ended up in a drawer.

I'd love to get it working again - any advice on who I could contact for repairs (ABC / Rik Dietel / IWW?), or any background on this model would be greatly appreciated!!

When I took off the bracelet, I could see (I believe - it was very difficult to see) the following:

Model Depose 979555

Well...I'm probably your guy on that but I'll let anyone make a suggestion.

Reference you will find on the opposite side of the lugs from the serial. Watch is from 1954.

It looks to be a reference 6332 most likely. It utilizes an A260 or 645 automatic movement. (same movement has 2 names)

The dial is refinished.

The bracelet is somewhat later USA version of the rivet bracelet.

It's a reasonably uncommon version of the semi bubble back watch. Characteristically it has flat sides.

They look to have been polished kind of rounded.

From the photos it's hard to tell exactly what you have.

Look and see what it says opposite the serial between the other set of lugs.

You can email me at:

RolexWatchTime@att.net

I'll be happy to discuss the watch with you with what you find further and help you find a solution to getting it going again even if you decide to have someone else do it.

An update! Looks like you were correct RWT - it's a "BREVET 6332".

Love the 6332...

Cool case design and one watch I regret selling. I actually tried to hunt it down again recently, to no avail :-(

Cheers

Ross
