1968 Rolex GMT ref.1675 - Assistance needed

Greetings folks,

Looking to purchase this 1675 GMT for my wife and wanted to know if everything looks good or if there are some inconsistencies? Or areas I should pay attention to? It has the correct 1.8m serial.

Thank you all in advance

A

Pass. Same thing you were being told at VRF.

Dial is later, hands are lumi, insert is service, bezel ring is later, bracelet is later. Case looks correct.

Even if it's a gift I'd recommend you to study up on whatever reference you're looking to buy.

Even with all the replacement parts it's still a very nice GMT. If the price reflects the watches condition then I think it's a great gift for your wife.

I would pass unless it's a super deal.

It's not all orig but still a nice daily wearer. Should we tell the OP how to spot a correct jubilee for a Gmt versus the more common date just? Look for pics of gmts with jubilees. The orig bands have little '50' codes stamped on the last links before the ends. This correct band is much harder to locate than a run of the mill jubilee band.

I'd like to learn about this....is that the only difference between the GMT Jubilee and the DJ Jubilee? Are they still the same reference #?

That is the only difference in the appearance of the two Jubilee's (62510H), but the ones without the "50" will not accommodate the 2mm fat springbars of the GMT.

I think this is spot on as far as info goes. If the watch is being purchased cheap enough to justify the non-period correct parts - and the bride doesn't care, go for it. But don't pay top dollar for a watch that from a collector's point of view is not top notch as you will take the hit down the road.

GMT hand may be aftermarket (but probably OK).
