Every how so often have you had to change Crown/Plexi?
Hello,
I was wondering out of experience how often it would be that you would have to change the crown or Plexi on your Subs/Gmts? My best friend's dad has a Rolex 5513 he got 10 years ago, and he hasn't ever needed to change either of these things yet. Would removing and re inserting a plexi cause damage to it? Would winding the crown a lot, to set a date for example on on QS watches cause the crown to wear? I know they still sell service plexi glass at the AD, and there are also plenty of original and NOS avail outside, just not sure if I should pick up a few to keep. And thanks. |

Removing the crystal can damage it. Service crystals are available from Rolex and authorized service providers. Note they are a distinctly different profile from original crystals. Original crystals are quite difficult to come by.
