Panerai enroute to me from a trade.

I recently made a trade for a Panerai 244 that is like new and virtually unworn in it's original box with everything. Has the golden brown oem croc strap and deployant buckle. This is a 2009 and I was very pleased to get it, especially considering it's condition. I know lots of people prefer the larger Panerai's and look down on the 40mm's but I'm not one of them. Especially considering my daily wear tool watch is a Rolex SD40. Should be here Friday and I am anxious.
Photos are courtesy of the person I obtained the watch from.

Nothing wrong with 40 mm models. You buy what you think looks good on your wrist. Not what others think

I'm 71 and so I really don't care what others think. But I am aware of the prejudice toward 40mm and even 42mm's. There's a blurb on line from some supposed expert who thinks that those are only for females. I don't happen to agree.

Let us know how the 40mm feels on the wrist. Some have said the watch being 40mm, seemed extra thick, chunky, and uneven due to the width-to-thickness ratio. And that 44mm seems to feel better due to the diameter being a bit wider.

I, myself, have skinny wrists and is considering the 40mm.

Looks great! Enjoy. Too many negative comments about "too big" or "too small". I'm down with whatever makes you happy. Looks like it's in great shape

Congratulations, my first PAM is a 40mm PAM 126. I loved it and had it for a long time. Enjoy!

That must be a big female....

My wife robs my sub collection all the time and they look like a damn wall clock on her wrist. I am 6'4 210 with wrists the size of goliath and 40mm looks just fine in Rolex or Pan.

Congrats OP. Great looking watch!

Watch arrived and for me it is the perfect size and features. I like it very much. As one can see my wrist isn't exactly small but I prefer watches in the 40 - 42mm sizes. With the crown guards Panerai's wear large.
