Which green?

I've had a thing for both the 16610lv and the 116610lv for a while now and the time has come to reshape my collection to get one.

My exp 2 will go (I just feel it's ever so slightly big), as will my speedy pro.

Remaining will be my 116710ln and my ck2998. The green watch will cover the dive watch hole in my trio. Both are give or take a few quid the same price so the value is a secondary concern for me here. Pros and cons for me on both models:

16610:

Pro : old school looks, sleek case, lovely shade of green on bezel.
Cons : bracelet and clasp a bit cheap feeling, aluminium bezel will test my OCD with scratches, no box and papers (not necessarily an issue as will service at some point).

116610:

Pro : latest tech, lovely dial, full set.
Cons : bezel doesn't match dial, already have 6 digit, is it too much green?

None of the cons are deal breakers, and I love both. Each time I try one on I think that one, and then I try the other....

I'm leaning towards the anniversary sub to add a bit of old school cool, but would be interested to hear opinions of those who own these and who may have made the same decision. Of course, I know the only person who can decide is me however.

Cheers,
Steve

Which green?

I personally wouldn't get 2 ceramics between the sub & gmt. You already have the GMTc so I would go for the 5 digit sub LV. They are well thought after and their value is going up.

Also, my opinion of course, I dislike the SubC LV for the very same reason you brought up in your cons ref. Bezel / Dial matching. Then again it has the new bracelet clasp and in green it's not too close to your GMTc in LN.

I'm on the other fence, with a SubC Date and after a 5 digit GMT :).

LVc all the way Steve... For me, all the modern improvements are simply too good to be overlooked! Good luck in your decision fella!

16610LV before they become too expensive to sensibly acquire for daily wear.

6 digits.

When I saw the 16610LV in pics, I loved it and wanted to get it. In person, I didn't like it. 116610LV was the opposite. Hated it in pics, loved it in person.

Putting aside questions of future value, which I have little insight on, I'd go with the LVc. Looks better (the dial is mesmerising), will age better given the bezel won't scratch up, better bracelet and clasp. No brainer for me.

116610LV hands down. I think you'll love how the color changes in different lighting.

I think, unless you are an investor and have a crystal ball, LVc is a better value currently. I just can't see paying more for a minty pre owned Kermit than a new LVc if you are torn between the two

The hulk for sure. That green dial is one of the best looking in the market. The Kermit is great too but not a match to the hulk IMHO. Can't go wrong with both

LVc, I think it's an overall better watch when you look at build quality and materials used.
I also prefer the looks, but that part is subjective.

if you can past the bracelet, go for the 5 digit. and i have the 6 digit green, but i still like the proportions of the older ones and the kermit has the updated maxi dial which i do like!

I prefer the upgrades of the LVC. I was never a fan of the LV, the black dial and green bezel don't do it for me.

LVc for me. Yes, the dial and bezel are different shades of green, but they look amazing together!

Can't really match the ceramic bezel to a sunburst dial. Like trying to hit a moving target. It does match most of the time.

LV for me.

The LVC has way too much green for me and I would tire of it in a short time.

The only way I'd wear an LV would be with an LV-C bracelet and glide lock on it.

LVc for me, best modern SS Rolex. I like the LV but prices are getting a bit silly now.

I can't get bent out of shape over future value either. I buy something to love wearing it

I voted with my wallet and went with the LVc. I think the dial is beautiful and the upgraded bracelet and clasp is an engineering marvel.
Half the time I wear it the dial looks very dark or black and as it catches different light it changes constantly. I think it's a lot of fun to wear.

Too much green? That is your question that needs careful thought.

LVC has too much green for me, so I vote KERMIT
