Panda Dials - All Time Best Models

I am relatively new to the hobby, but have always been intrigued by panda dial watches and that was even before I had knew what a panda dial was. I ordered a Tudor BB Chrono, and am waiting for it to come in.

I have been going down the wormhole researching some watches with panda dials and was curious if anyone would mind sharing their favorite models (new/old and any brand) that feature a panda dial. If you have pictures I am sure a lot of people would like to see them!

Thanks TRF

Here's a vintage Hamilton that I scooped off of the large auction site nearly a decade ago for a couple hundred dollars. Sold it a couple years back for nearly 10x that to help fund another purchase...crazy times.

If you like it, the good news is that Hamilton did a re-release of it (as nearly every brand is doing to take advantage of the vintage market), albeit in a larger size.

Good thread! I think the Tudor Panda (white) may be my next watch.

I love panda dials and have several. Here is my Omega speedmaster Professional with the Mitsukoshi dial.

I also own a pair of 1960s Vintage Seiko panda automatics. I really believe these are true gems!

This one imo is the best Rolex Daytona dial.

Please note everyone that owns an 116500-white dial Daytona that this above is what a Panda dial looks like

Wow, thank you to everyone who shared! These all look so great. Amazing to see the different brands' take on panda dials.

Would love to see more examples if people are willing to share.

Anyone know when the first panda dials came out and whether it was something that caught on during a certain period of time? Have panda dials been produced consistently over time or did they fall out of favor and are really more of a vintage design?

It really looks great in photos and can't wait to see it in person. I have gotten to know one of the sales guys at my AD pretty well and trust his judgement. He swears it is one of his favorite looking watches he has seen in person in a long time.

Would have to be a PN dial with cross-hairs subdials, like a 6239 or 6241, sure we will have a few pics in due course.

The modern iterations above are also very nice.

Reminiscent of the '68/'69 Daytona. My favorite.

Read the original post, before there were any replies, and got a little excited.
Knew this was going to a good one to look in on later.

. . . . and I wasn't wrong. Great watches

I was never a Daytona fan because of the standard dial. I made the exception for the Panda “Racing” dial.

Bought 6 years ago, at a discount with no special AD “relationship.”

No plans to sell, ever.
