Need your thoughts regarding authenticity of a Rolex buckle

Hello All...I hope everyone is enjoying their week. I m looking for a GENUINE solid 18k rose gold ROLEX buckle. 16mm. I found one on ebay and need your thoughts regarding authenticity. I know the history this seller has with fake buckles...but if it is a legit buckle, thats what matters. The price is not fabulous...but I know I am looking for a needle in a haystack.

The following is the listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-18k-RO...item3a93583025

Let me know your thoughts. I would appreciate everyone's thoughts.

I also bought a YG Rolex buckle from the same seller and was under the impression that it is legit.

But, I also bought this crocodile strap from Beckertime and I wonder if this is legit also?

Any input on both will be helpful.

No, on the buckles. Same seller has fake gold Oyster band, and had listed fake Paul Newman Daytona for a while, even though advised as such.

I have never seen those maker's marks on a valid buckle, old or new. And, the crude casting marks underneath are the giveaway of a fraudulent item made by molding a genuine one.

Getting some conflicting info on authenticity. From my understanding there are different styles with different markings from various decades, does anyone have any pictures to compare them to?

Is this a serious question? I thought Beckertime was supposed to be able to tell aftermarket from original Rolex parts.

Packaging ?

Call me cynical but when something is described as ....

" Like new, appears never to have been used or worn "

.... that suggests to me that the seller wants to represent it as a new item without actually saying so.

Any later-issue Rolex items I've ever handled have been supplied in a Rolex branded blister pack - a pack that can only be freshly opened once.
At other times, true NOS vintage parts have come to me in waxy Rolex-branded envelopes.

Can I ask how items from this seller arrive - I'm guessing a zip-lock baggie and that doesn't smell like genuine Rolex to me

It was packed wrapped in bubble wrap in generic watch gift box.

This is why I am asking the experts here on TRF. Lets keep this discussion positive. Old Expat Beast, do you think the clasp is real or fake and why? I value your opinion.

And to be clear, we did not sell the buckle. I am asking as I am looking for a buckle.

I'd suggest that the vast majority of buckles on the open market are questionable.
For absolute confidence, I'd go direct to Rolex who can supply

Buckles is not never worn you can see it's been polished I know if at least 6 types of stampings on these buckles. Such things were not fussed over and marked that great in the old days

Beckertime, did you ever purchase the buckle? If so was it real?

I too am looking for a yellow gold buckle and was thinking of purchasing one from the same seller but some have said it's good while others have said it's not good in this thread.

I never knew purchasing a buckle could be so confusing!
