New Seiko SZSB013

Anyone tried one of these new Seiko SZSB013s? I've been looking for a long time for a simple blue-dial Seiko that's not a dive watch and has a mechanical movement and throw-back look to the 1960s. This might be it, and at under $500 might be worth giving it a try. Case size is listed at just under 40mm. Japanese market only. Lug holes! Yay!

A lot of photos here, including close-ups. Looks super cool. (Already sold out on this site.)

That's a really nice clean design with a great shade of blue. Just wish it didn't say "10 BAR." A real vintage feel. 4R35 is a real workhorse of a movement. Not high end but solid blue collar lunch pail caliber. You can get it for $440.00 and free shipping on eBay from Japan.

Totally agree. I'd be happy without the "23 Jewels" too, but not a deal-breaker. On the wrist, I bet it's not a big deal.

Very nice. Just 'Automatic' on the dial would've been better, but I could live with the extra info.

If you interested in a simple, attractive blue dial mechanical, you might want to check out the discontinued SARX047... see eBay listing below (not mine). You can find these basically NOS for around $500, and they come with the upmarket 6R15 movement. The dial and finishing looks really good. I have a few watches with 6R movements, and I’ve had very good performance. This was a great class of watches (SARB, SARG, SARX).... discontinued, but I think that makes them all the more interesting to find and own. Cheers.

Is that a good "nice" or a bad "nice?"

It's a positive expression in the States if you mistook my intentions seeing you're from the Philippines.

^ good nice. Was also complimenting the nice touch of blue in your comment.

I think i got what you intended to convey.

I see where possible confusion may arise as some may see a negative connotation from blue collar vs white collar. But i personally appreciate blue collar work.

All good.
