Vintage Patek - Dial Patina - Restoration Question

Here is my Vintage Patek ref #2532.

I offered it as a trade in towards a ref# 5035 but they only offered me $4,500 so I decided to keep it.

I am thinking of having it restored. As you can see, after 60 yrs, the bezel has corroded and needs replacement. BUT my real question is the dial.

As you can see, the dial has oxidized and assumed a tan or brown patina.

Other 2532s I have seen have white dials.


Do you think the dial was once white but has oxidized? Will replacing the dial make it less valuable? Am I nuts for investing the money?

I am actually a Rolex man, but the more I wear this watch, the more I like it.

Most collectors love this old dial - known as Patina.( you collect rolex ?)
it would definitely reduce the value of the watch.
Polish the bezel and get the movement serviced but do not touch the dial

Thanks for the feedback. Does the bezel need to be replaced or will a good polishing do the trick.

Also, should I have the entire case be polished? Gold is non corrosive but i am thinking that gold gets a patina also?

What would you do?
