My favourite...glad to see they've lost the "chin". Finally paying attention to consumer feedback I guess :)

I like these 5270s, have a more modern vibe than the 5970s.

I agree 100% Neil, the 5970 is more wanted by collectors it seems but I prefer the 5270, especially with blue dial or in RG like they have decided to do...

Man if one day I want a full RG piece will definitely get a 5711-1R, I guess much cheaper than the 5980-1R and lighter and more comfortable, if the price isn't too high compared to the 5167R might get it instead, I love the 5167R but the fact that it's double the price of the SS kind of kills me, there certainly isn't enough gold to justify even by far such a price difference...

I agree I love it with blue dial, it's a killer watch. What do you mean by the "chin"?

Here's 3 pics, 2 are super watches IMO but I don't see on the pics where is the "day/night" indicator, and one is "what the hell is this thing", not in a good way...

Here is the "chin" of the former model, which I personally found visually annoying :)

the date / moonphase disk doesn't cut into the tachymeter scale like the new reference but rather "bumps" it out - hence the chin reference

Yes I see it now, never understood why you need a day night indicator on a watch which is not a GMT but why not if they decided to put one in, more or less same thing with my 24hr arrow on my 5726, why the hell is it there, I don't really see the use for it except when you need to rewind your watch so that it will be 10 PM and not 10 AM for example, but can't say it's something necessary, could very well do without...

That 5524 pilot's chrono kind of looks like a fake to my eye; very unbalanced. Perhaps it looks better in the metal.

Both are great in blue dial, the 5905P black dial is nice but the blue one is a stunner

LOL... I always like the one that people single out as wrong. I was like hmm, I may have to pick up a 5524. The one thing that I don't like about it is that it is white gold instead of steel. It should be steel, but I think I can live with it.

The numerals remind me of the ones on the limited edition VC 1921 model's dial.

well, you are right. But I guess if Patek can't come with innovation the only thing left is keep changing designs. Right ? Not saying that is right or wrong. Oh well...

That is the key...hence soft market on them. This one is a stunner, but as noted will not be a hot seller for obvious reasons.
