20th anniversary Aquanaut event / rumors

Anyone else see patekaholic's post regarding the 20th anniversary of the Aquanaut:

Any corroborating info out there? Other rumors?

Hope Patek won t chose the path blowing up the case sizes to get the attention of the masses.

Might be a lot going on there with the dial texture and chrono features. Blue is always a popular color though, so I wouldn't doubt they would make a blue face version eventually.

Let's hope they skip the 'embossing'

WG and blue would be a nice combo.

I was more interested about his post about a new 5370!
I suspect a rose gold white email dial is on the way.

My fear is that they upsize the case and not the movement and we get a poorly positioned date window. I would prefer no date.

New Aquanaut Tombstone dial? Since the 40th anniv Nautilus were snapped up pretty fast, Patek might think the "embossing" is a popular and well received feature.

I know but it's a shame. The aquanaut dial is so well balanced. The 5164 offers a glimpse of the beauty.

Doubt they will move from the 28-520. Of course just keeping it at the 40 size will configure a bit like 5980. We shall see soon

A white gold aquanaut with a blue dial and 5980 style chrono would look fantastic.

WG Aquanut chrono with a blue dial would be a nice piece, but a what price? That would probably take the watch into the $55K-$60K USD price range.

I know. That's the bummer. I wish it was SS. Even then then price wouldn't be competitive with the likes of an AP offshore. One can score a new Ti 44 for what 24K after discount?

I know pp is in house but I want to piss and moan anyways

If it has the same new blue as the WG Naut it will be a hit.

I would be into a piece like this.

I already want a new aquanaut, but am likely leaning 5164r.
