I've heard that Patek still makes 5711 1/Ps for VIPs. Really amazing someone would pay 3x retail of a watch Patek can still make any day. Oh well...

I remember Khalid sharing his incoming 5711/1P here some time ago. If anyone is a VIP, he would certainly qualify.

And rumor is they have re-made 5970g salmon dials and 3940g salmon dials for the right customers. Nothing is sacred, but at least they seem to recognize that those watches were something special.

But moral of the story here is if there is money to be made, they will make it. I think everyone should keep this in mind when buying anything Patek made in the last 30 years....

Not only that, we debated whether or not it was a smart buy at retail it was a split answer with many saying not worth it!

The VP of Sales for my AD told me they delivered a 5711-P in Q1 of this year. So I know this to be true.

Perfect and makes sense. I’d love to order one but don’t have the juice sadly. Would be great for these to be out there more as the weight of platinum in a classic case without diamonds on dial is wonderful. Understated wow factor in all its glory.

I thought the watch was only available through the Salons. A couple of years ago, I used to have a Geneva Salons price list and the 5711/1P was listed on it (way before the 40th anniversary model).

Add me to the camp of people that don't really get the "stamp". Yeah I get it's loved on social media and such but I would prefer watches without the stamp all else being equal, let alone the insane premiums they command on certain references.

They have re-made 5070Ps and 5970Gs with salmon dials for their top clients. They have asked the clients not to post those on social media so other collectors won't get upset

Earlier this year a collector from France posted a wrist shot of a watch on another forum. He mentioned that he was not allowed to say which reference it was but posted it as it was a unique reference and he couldn't resist to let the world know

Few weeks later an AD offered me a double sealed watch saying it was a unique watch and Patek rewarded them with that watch. It was the exact same reference posted by the above mentioned collector.

lol... too good/funny/sad. the age of social media has made the piece unique and limited runs a difficult game to play. I really try to downplay factoring in the limited (or not) nature of my purchases in part for this reason.

There are 10 green Aquanauts out there, the Hulk equivalent from Patek.

For Nautilus, there is a 5711 in Platinum with Baguette-cut Emeralds - 5711/10P - 5 pieces only.

And another in ruby 5711P-RUB - also 5 pieces only.

Have not seen in the metal, though there are several reports and an Antiquorum (yeah I know, Antiquorum) auction on the ruby version. Sold for HKD 2,370,000. Picture from Antiquorum/Forbes.

For the emerald version, there seems to be 1 in chrono24 but was reserved.

Thank you! I was joking and insinuating that there may be more than the “reported” numbers. Best

Well, nobody knows. But I won't be surprised if there are more.

The Sterns certainly have a lot of VVIP to thank for all these years.

Then again, if his VVIP were told only 5 were made in each color, and if they found out that wasn't the case, Patek may lose them. It doesn't make a lot of business sense to lie to your biggest customers since these watches are made to thank them.
