Looking back...those that thought it was too expensive and not worth the premium must be kicking themselves right about now...

Yeah, it was too much for me! A fellow collector in the area I know picked one up, hoping to see his one of these days.

I don't know much about this subject but it seems like it would be a lot easier, if you want to have a really unusual Nautilus, to just buy a 3711 and have the black dial white gold version, than to petition Patek to allow you to order a platinum 5711. And you could have it next week instead of three years from now.
