Vintage Watches Italy/Stefano Mazzariol

Has anyone done business with Stefano? He has some spectacular watches on his website. He also is one of the trusted sellers on Rolex Passion Market.

Thanks,
David

Never did business with him, but I don't like that he has "price on request" on so many watches. Why not just say the price up front?

Seems to be the thing to do with a lot of these pieces. Just another way to drive up interest or should I say start the feeding frenzy.

When I see that I can't help but think the dealer wants to talk to you to gauge your level of knowledge. If you are a sophisticated vintage collector you will get one price and if you are a rank noob you will get the double boat payment price.

Dealers have a dozen reasons but none that are particularly convincing.

LOW BALL!

The dealers need business more than we need another watch

Stefano Mazzariol is one of the most serious dealer that I know.

I also would appreciate to have the price listed on the website but this "price on request" is not unusual in europe.....

Stefano Mazzariol is top of the top, one of the worlds finest dealers. He is a student of vintage Rolex, respected for his research, photography and his knowledge and contributions to the community.

There was no intent to disparage Mr. Mazzariol or indeed any of the dealers who work so hard to provide safe, mutually beneficial transactions.

POR is a world wide practice but let's be realistic; who likes it besides dealers?

POR also provides adjustment with the market conditions, which is usually higher.
The longer on the shelf, the tastier...

rolstaff - I totally agree with Mr. Carver. My intention was not to cast aspersions on Stefano. I was hoping for positive feedback and a possible introduction. Wiring large sums (for me anyway) overseas makes me nervous. I apologize if I offended you or Stefano in the process.
