Icon20 So far in LA!

Hello Members of TRF!

I'm visiting Los Angeles with my family on vacation. So far, I've tried on a TT DJ Jubilee, TT 16713 GMT-II and a Pepsi GMT-II! Today I tried on the 16713 and the Pepsi GMT's. I had the Pepsi on my wrist for 10 mins in the little store, the salesman kept showing me Rolex books and such. Then we got talking and he showed me a couple more. I suggest going to this little shop in Santa Monica. It's called Noble Jewelry. Very small store, very small selection, all previously enjoyed Rolex's. He had 10 or 12. Been taking pictures of my Invicta all over the Los Angeles area. I also saw this Daytona Quartz homage in Bloomingdale's It had a plastic bracelet on it. They wanted $230 for it!!! I'm like? Here's some pics from today, and the address to Noble.

Thanks mates. Haha yes it does! It took me 3 minutes to open the clasp! I thought the watch was going to break. It was very tough.

Enjoy your stay. Hopefully you won't get caught in the traffic mess that's going to start tomorrow night when a 10 mile section of 405 freeway will be completely closed in West Los Angeles area.

Thanks everyone! The closure of the 405 is going to be a nightmare. I didn't pick up the Pepsi. She was a real beauty though!

I think I've been there before. What were they asking for the Pepsi and the Coke? As I recall, they are usually kind of over priced. Tried to make a purchase there a few years back, and they were very afraid to quote me a price....so I left. Used to be a great place to find lots of nice old watches, Antiquarius, but it burned down in 2008. One of the sellers there, Second Time Around Watch Company (310-271-6615), relocated to 8763 Rosewood Avenue, one block north of the intersection of Beverly and Robertson Boulevards, right around the corner from the original Antiquarius Building. Give them a call, and see when they are open. Most likely no deals there, but historically, they have been a great place to see lots of cool vintage watches (Rolex, Patek, Audemars, Vacheron). No longer owned by Sig, the original owner, but perhaps still worth while to check it out. Easy to get to from Santa Monica/West LA, without having to use any freeways. Have a nice visit in LA.....

Alright! I think they were asking $4200 for the 90's Pepsi. The 16713 from the 70's they were asking $5???. I'll try to check out Second Time. I went to Malibu this morning and checked out the AD, They opened at 12, and I went at 12:30ish. They wouldn't let me in, I think a celebrity or something was in there. There was a gorgeous Bentley out front. You never know.
