SS Daytona Black Dial cost

While checking around I see that the black dial costs a few $100 more. I have the white dial but just wonder why this is so? Purely demand I assume? MSRP is the same I believe...Thoughts?

The black or white dial have exactly the same retail price now some parts of the world like Asia the black dial does seem to get a slightly more selling premium price.

I prefer the white. Save the black dial chrono for a Speedmaster.

Did it purely on legibility. Thought the white sub dials were easier to read.
