$3500 is around £1900. Not a snowball's chance in hell of finding any half decent 14060m in the UK for under £2500-2750. Even at those prices, it's gone in a flash. |

I paid $6300 in December 2011.
The watch should not cost more than that, so if the proprietor won't come down at least $200, I'd walk. Still, the last of the 14060M is still an interesting watch for the following reasons. What is interesting about this watch is that externally, it is a 14060M, but internally, it is a 114060, as it has the Parachrom Bleu hairspring and whatever other change was made for the 114060 and of course it does have the random numerical identifier. Now, as you can see, these things mean absolutely nothing to others here, but those are some interesting characteristics, as far as I'm concerned, and I'm very happy that I got one of the last 14060Ms off the assembly line. Don't get me wrong. The 114060 is a beautiful watch, but the 14060M is the last of a long line of classic Submariners, in my judgement and I like my watches to be new when I buy them. So, I'd go for it just so long as the AD isn't charging a premium because it's a discontinued watch.

Hmm, just bought a 14060 (not M) and it was a bit over $4K US. I didn't see any Ms approaching that price.

I just bought a NIB 2007 14060m with stickers for 4.5k. I just took the stickers off and probably lost 100 bucks of my purchase already. 6.5k is way to steep of a price. I would shell out another 500 and buy the SubC no date if you are looking to spend that kind of money.

I would say go for it. The 14060m is a far nicer daily wearer than the chunky 114060, plus you can pick up a ceramic sub ND any day of the week as they are in production, the 14060m however isn't and as such a BNIB if hard to come across, and in a year or two will be virtually impossible.

Buy what you want. BNIB would be important to me also. I can see how it could be hard to find another, especially if buying from a local dealer. I'm sure you would attempt to negotiate a better price if you could. Watches supposedly are not investments and I would buy it and never look back.

Way too much money for that watch. I have owned a few 14060's over the years and my random cost me $5400 out the door from a AD after they were discontinued. Buy the 114060 for that price and enjoy the upgrades, because the 14060 needed them with that cheap feeling bracelet, the rattle drives me crazy.

Are you speaking of the bracelet that worked flawlessly and defined bracelet comfort for more than 50 years?

But what your heart desires
But use your negotiating skills to lower the price I'm sure there is room for negotiation Come in low he will drop his price then you counter Draw a line in the sand and be willing to walk if he doesn't agree

They are difficult to find new these days, so $6300 wouldn't phase me, either.

Sorry but 14060 is no rare bird. Even the M.
I would not pay that much unless you really want a new one for yourself.

All I'm hearing is everyone talking about the selling price and that it is too much...and to some probably so. What I would ask yourself is if this is the watch you want and will make you Happy...then go for it. Life is too short to worry about the technicalities!!!
