My Two Watches - Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean and Tudor Prince Oysterdate

As my first post here, I'm excited to share with you my recent entry into the world of watches. Thanks to my best friend matrim604, I am a recent watch addict and hope to add to my collection when I can. My two favorite watches are my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean and my Tudor Prince Oysterdate.

The Tudor is especially meaningful to me as it was bought by my father 30 years ago, when we immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong. He wanted to purchase something valuable to him as a symbol of a new phase in his life. For my 36th birthday he recently gifted this to me to pass on to my family one day.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and checking out all of your collections!

Welcome. I'd love to see your Tudor especially, but your pics don't seem to be showing.

Yep, can see them now. That Tudor dial is spectacular. Sounds like you were leaving HK around the time I was arriving.

I love the linen dial myself... definitely gives it a different look at a glance. I haven't been back to HK in a decade, but it will always be my birthplace, and this watch will always be tied to the city for me!

Welcome!

I love both of those watches. I'm a big fan of the PO, but that Tudor is something special!

Loving the dial in the Tudor and the fact that your dad passed it on to you.

Thanks! I was very happy when I found out about my dad's Tudor, as I have recently gotten into the hobby and even more recently into Tudors (my eye is on a Heritage Chrono Blue). When he said he would give it to me as a present but no further details on the watch, I could not have hoped for a better story behind how he came upon it.
