What's next!?!

I currently own a 116200, which I think is just great. I'm already thinking about another piece though. I'm not too keen on big watches, but I want to get a Rolex sport model one day to compliment my DJ. I find the new ceramic models a bit too bulky, because of this I have been eyeing the 5 digit references recently.

Tempt me with your photos of 5 digit reference sport models! I love GMTs and SUBS, but I also love the explorer and Daytona... Perhaps your piece could be the one to sway my decision!

And here is my DJ, better keep this thread semi relevant!IMG_20151103_171632.jpg

The Daytona & GMT II wear smaller than 40mm IMO.

So i've heard! Thats the size I am going for. I think my current leads are the GMT Coke w/ jubilee bracelet or the Sub 16610!

What a BEAUTY. I love that watch so much. Absolutely gorgeous. It could very well be my third, but for my second watch I think I want to try a new size!

There's one ceramic modern sport Rolex that comes up aces for those who don't like the maxi case. The Sea-Dweller Ceramic has all the great bits of modern Rolex, ceramic bezel, glidelock clasp, it's chunkier than a SubC but the lugs being different change it dramatically. I also love the matte dial. You should try it on at an AD as an alternative and would complement any collection quite well because of all the little differences it has.

Failing that, I think the Explorer II 16570 is another that greatly complements any collection. Black or white, I'm after a Polar now myself.

The Daytona would be my first recommendation to you as it is not as "bulky" as the newer 6 digit references, but I would choose the black dial version to contrast your Datejust.

As an alternative, if you want to go with the old 5 digit references, I would go with the Submariner or Explorer II. The Explorer II is one of the most comfortable watches I have ever owned.

Attached are some pictures from my collection. Don't own them anymore, but they are still superb timepieces.

I love the Sub! Looks great! Explorer II is a good choice too, a very practical watch. Decisions decisions...

Good point! SD 4K is pretty darn nice. Tried one on and LOVED it. But I still find myself more into the 16600? Hard to explain!

Sub would be a great way to go, especially having a white dial watch already. Just my .02c Good luck on your hunt...

Don't worry, I understand what you mean when you say you're still drawn to the 16600, I'm a big fan of that too. It's also on my list!
