I LOVE open 6s and 9s. An original brushed silver date wheel can make or break a vintage Rolex, IMHO. I'm surprised not more emphasis is put on them. There's so much discussion about dials and unpolished cases, but not nearly as much on date wheels, which stare at you as much as anything on a vintage Rolex with a date. It's not only the fact that the numbers are open, it's the thick font and big size of the date. They're so much cooler than the super white wheels with smaller numbers they put on modern Subs with dates.
