Just an update to add an old photo that shows the Gammeter & Co. shop in Singapore. It's the ground floor premises in the second building from the left. The name is just visible. This is probably the late 20s, early 30s, just before Gammeter became the Rolex AD. All these buildings are sadly now long gone.

Some new items of interest to add here. First is an envelope I bought from a Singapore stamp dealer, sent from Gammeter's Singapore to one of their managing partners, Otto Richard, in 1936, the year they became a Rolex AD. Perhaps he was in Switzerland negotiating with Rolex at the time this was sent. He usually lived in Singapore.

Next is a postcard from, I guess, the late 1940s, showing Gammeter in the same building as the previous photo (post #36), but a decade or two later. The building seems to have been renovated or modernised. It was probably still a Rolex AD at this time, unless it's already 1950, when they lost the dealership to the Borneo Company.

I'm glad someone in Singapore found it interesting. I hope to add more later.

Here's an aerial view of the location, circa 1960, with the shop circled in red.

It could get some wrist time with me here in Mississippi (USA) during the hot and HUMID summer. Good find, sir.

Awesome photo of the past Adam! That place now, is Arcade Shopping Centre, which itself may go on sale soon for redevelopment.

Thanks once again!

Just found this 3064 and 3130 sold at auction a few years ago by Phillips, which wrongly claimed in the descriptions that the Gammeter on the dials here was a jeweller in Missouri, not the Singapore AD.
