New SD – BRACELET/CLASP WIDTH?

Anyone have any insight into the width of the bracelet and clasp on the new SD?

I'd LOVE it if they made them a bit wider to make the whole thing proportionate, but I'd be surprised if they don't just do what they did with the DSSD – I mean, it would make no sense for the new SD to end up with a wider bracelet than the DSSD.

I could maybe handle 43mm if the bracelet were proportional…

I don't...but I'm going to hazard a guess that while it may be wider at the lugs, it will taper to the same size when you get to the removable links...as the other oyster bracelets. This is the way the DSSD does, and I wouldn't be surprised if the new SD follows suit.

Probably 21mm lug width, like the 216570s.

21mm lug width sounds right – but how great would it be if they upped the clasp width to 18mm?

To the original poster:

Perhaps check out this link to a preliminary review of the new SD by A Blog To Watch (Ariel Adams):

http://www.ablogtowatch.com/rolex-se...-126600-watch/

He specifically states the bracelet is wider and better balanced then the outgoing 116600's bracelet. He's a big SD fan, so I think he was touching on this very subject you inquire about. I also believe he mentions its more proportional all the way around, and wears better on the wrist due to the new wider bracelet then the outgoing model. FYI

Cheers,

Joe

Indeed!

I'd like to see evidence in terms of official specs or photo comparisons to the Sub/DSSD bracelets or whatever, but it would seem strange if the writer were wrong about that.

If true, this would go a HUGE way toward making the piece attractive to me…
