Sorry Tudor and Longines, Group says these watches aren't fine

Sorry if this was posted already. I was reading some articles on Bloomberg and came across this:

Some Swiss watch fans eager to wear the work of a fine maker may have to upgrade after the country’s Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie categorized the industry for the first time, clarifying which brands are in and out of the exclusive club.

In a three-year review of 86 brands, 64 were selected as examples of fine watchmaking, according to the Swiss organizer of the Geneva watch salon and Watches & Wonders exhibition. Richemont’s Cartier, Rolex and Swatch Group AG’s Omega made the cut. Richemont’s Baume & Mercier, Rolex’s sister brand Tudor and Swatch’s Longines didn’t.

Rolex and omega HH! We made it boys!

Jk lol. I don't personally categorize either as HH but I do consider them both to be the ideal watch for daily wear and possibly the best overall for those who haven't gone off the deep end.

I don't think Tudor fans will be crying for missing this boat

Got that right, Tom. Reminds me of the famous quote, "I wouldn't join a club that would have me as a member."

Tudor isn't in the business of fine watchmaking. That's not their place in the watch world. Does that diminish the brand? I don't think so. Tudor has its fans and as previously mentioned, I'm sure they won't be bother by this. Those who are surprised by the HH Foundations assessment are living in la la land.

Well, LV and Chanel are debatable, but the others aren't a surprise (innovators and/or historic and/or luxury/quality).

Perhaps if you have a look at the FHH "Partner Brands" some of their choices for the list can be explained

That is what got me, I can appreciate Tudor not making the list (I like them a lot but much prefer pre 80s Tudor). But Tag? Really? Did Movado not pay a large enough bribe?

I seem to recall that when TAG sold their watch company to LV all the TAG folks were thrilled that they didn't have to wear the TAG watches anymore. Says a lot about that line.
