5 years in the making ;)
After a long time lurking (5 years to be exact) and drooling with your watches I'm finally ready to purchase my first Rolex .
I'm coming to the one year anniversary of owning my business and want to reward me with my dream watch since 2006 the "Bluesy" TT SUB. I have a couple of not that expensive watches and had to admit I also looked at the replica world but my love for that sub never allowed me to wear a replica of it hahaha. Now I want it New but AD has them at $13400 and I've been reading about "grey market" and "trusted dealers" here but are they on the "who's who" section? Should I reach out to one of the sellers with more threads made out to them and ask them for the watch? Are those prices posted in classifieds negotiable at all ( saw a couple of 116613LB for $10500 but wondering if that's negotiable) Sorry for the long post and I tried to search before asking all of this LOL Thanks in advance |

Congratulations on your business anniversary :)
I'd say start with going to the AD and telling them about the deal you can get from a trusted online seller, TT models are not selling as fast so dealers might be willing to negotiate. The AD experience and relationship is worth some money to me but not more than few 100 bucks. Negotiation with trusted sellers, you can always try

Without a doubt, go for what saves you money.
If the AD won't come down in price, check a trusted seller. I can vouch for DavidSW (bought 2 rolexes from him in the past). |

I have had great experiences with both ADs and trusted dealers. Trusted dealers definitely save you much money.

Check out SoHAIS. He's highly trusted here. I've bought 2 watches from him this year. He's based from Atlanta. Good luck. Just go the trusted seller route here and save a lot of money.

Congrats on the one year! Since it's your first Rolex I would say go to an AD and get the AD experience. As mentioned, TT models don't sell fast. I'm sure you can negotiate a price.
However, whichever route you pick it's a win! |

Reach out to our trusted sellers. If nothing else, you'll have a number in mind to negotiate with if you do decide to go to an AD.
And by the way, that's one heck of a watch. |

Don't forget you can hit a couple different ADs. Like said before tell them your story and see what happens. I live by the golden rule. He/She with the gold makes the rules! Good luck and I hope to see pics soon.

Good luck. I bought my first Rolex from an AD, second and third (my wife's) from TS's. All are fantastic watches, and you won't be disappointed which ever route you take. You will always remember your first Rolex, wear it with pride.

I'd go to an AD and try the watch on to Make sure it's the one for you
The I'd negotiate using numbers you see here from trusted sellers. They might not be willing to match price, but they may come close, and for my first, I'd want to buy from an AD Good luck and congratulations on your business anniversary. |

I can see already how helpful are the members and the dealers here. Now it's a matter to decide if $900 more for a brand new one is worth it or save it and go with one with 4 years left on warranty .... decisions haha

Going tomorrow to the AD and talk to them about the numbers offered. I want to also try one last time before making my decision.
It seems like a new one from the dealers here will cost me less than $11k and a used one less than $10K.... is it worth it the extra $1k? being the original owner? ( in cars is definitely worth it ) Thanks for all your replies and advise so far. |

Well even if the AD offers you a good deal on the sale price, they're still going to get you on sales tax.

5 years in the making 😉
See what the AD does. I tried with a couple AD's but they couldn't come close to DavidSW on a bnib 116613lb. With the savings on price and tax it was an easy decision for me.
I also toyed with a "newer" used model but the difference was only about $600 so went brand new with my name on the warranty card. David had the watch to me in less than 24 hours. Delivered right to my office I live in a rural area and closest AD is 120 mikes away and we only have a handful in the whole state so basically only buy from David these days. I understand what others are saying about the AD experience and developing a relationship with your AD and I had that in the past--pre internet days, but my guy closed his store years ago, so now just use trusted sellers. Good luck on the hunt and look forward to the incoming. Excellent choice by the way. Bluesy is a great watch. Official Member "WIS-CON" Las Vegas International GTG 2017

Congrats! Trusted seller Thanh Do (aka Takuya watches) is in Houston and could certainly hook you up. The best I've worked with! He could probably also get it for you from out of state so you don't have to pay the tax.

Went to the AD today and she said that they can add a watch winder and engrave it for free but asking full price :(
Also she said that if I buy from someone other than Rolex it can be stolen or that Rolex will not honor the warranty... any of you have had success sending watches to Rolex for warranty even though you bought it from a trusted dealer? Ps. The watch is so amazing!!! |

That's what I'm thinking, she just wanted it to close the sale. Can't wait to close a deal here and get it next week most likely
