It sits as well as a sub, I think the size is perfect, I think this will be in high demand due to the new size case. I personally think the sub will come across as small now.

I owned a 42mm Exp2, it even sits and wears better than that.

So excited.

Thanks for the update.

Great information, thanks! My wrist is just over 7.5" and seeing how good it looks on you has me totally excited to try one on. This could wind up being perfect for me.

This was EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear. My Subs always felt/looked a little too small for my 8.5+" wrist, yet my DSSDs always started to annoy me for a long-term daily wearer due to its thickness. I assume this SD43 will be the perfect "inbetween" watch for me, but won't know for sure until I try it on and wear for a while. But your report is very encouraging.

Damn that thing is nice looking. I know it's just colored font and size and the addition of a magnifier but it's all put together quite well.

...and redesigned lugs/crown guards, better proportioned tapered bracelet, modified clasp, new movement (w/ amazing 70 hr reserve), etc...lets not forget this watch offers significantly more IMO than simply some red font and a few mm increase in size.

moby33,

How has the clasp been modified? It did not look different that the previous SD 4000.

Two questions that everybody has:
1. How thick (in mm)?
2. Which weight (in grams)?

Who will be the first to answer? :)

I think we all expect you to take the day off so you can go collect the SD first thing in the morning, and then spend the entirety of your day taking photos and posting them here for us.

That's a reasonable ask, right?

I went and had a proper feel and its massive ! made my 1665 MK2 look tiny . I am in a sort of honeymoon period with my 1665 PP MK2 at the moment and that maybe why I am not doing cartwheels etc. Its nice yes but to be fair I may just be digging the Vintage stuff more .

TBH I think my AD was a little disappointed when I said I may give it to my Father , He has always worn a decent watch , but he wears them hard from a lad I remember him having a old hand wound Omega that just wore out, Then another Auto Omega that again gave up , He then has my First Sub and that broke down twice , Then my 42mm Explorer, Then my old SD4K. He hasn't killed any Rolex .

He was 76 in April and if this had arrived sooner I would have given him this in a heartbeat. I won't sell it ! .

I just sold a Big Red I didn't wear to buy a new SD1665MK2PP and now keep asking myself why ,I sort off miss it but it was Small and now I think the 216600 is Big , Just maybe after 25yrs off searching it is the 40mm 1665/1680 that I really love. (currently anyway).

It is Lee Fowlers Birthday Today and he is picking up the 43mm so lets have hm post his pics first , He seams much more excited about this new 43mm than myself .

There is no way the SD43 will be as flat on ones wrist as the SubC.

Shops will be opening for Monday morning business real soon in the UK...

It would be extremely helpful if those who're lucky enough to pick up SD50 today to post pictures with reference to their wrist diameter so that people can have clearer picture of how well the watch sit on different size of wrists.

Not sure if the shops will open at 0900hrs today (9 mins ago) or 1000hrs as it's a bank holiday in the UK
