Another Price Hike for Hong Kong~!

Guys,

Just wanted to share with you, today HK Rolexes official retagged all the watches with a range of 5-8% increase! take for example the DEEPSEA is now retailed at USD 10,600!

This is the 3rd time they have jacked up the price this year in Hong Kong!

The road ahead will be tougher and toughter in this region! God Help us!

now I am not surprised, that they did not want to give me more than 5% 2 weeks ago ;)
In April, same shop offered me 8% on a SubC LN

that's still cheaper than in Canada, also in Ontario we have 13% HST

but as some other members have mention, some AD are hinting that we are also going to be getting another price hike also

when you come to think of it, Rolex have been consistently increasing prices almost year after year, whereas some other brands like Omega, Panerai haven't had a increase in years in Canada

Got my first Rolex, a Sub C in Hong Kong 5 weeks ago. Prices had just gone up then from around HKD 56k to HKD 59,100. The price went up while I was deciding so lucky I didn't delay any longer.

Check out the 'for sale' section here, you will find out the asking price went up a lot in last 3,4 month. This probably a good thing because your Rolex will not depreciate over years. I guess Rolex's value did appreciate if you take care your watch and keep all the document.

Price increase in Singapore as well, which is strange because the last round of increase was just a couple of months ago.

I wish Rolex CEO or someone from the company can let us know the rationale of such frequent price adjustment. Else we'll have to assume that Rolex is just being greedy.

Does Rolex officially announce the reason behind price hikes? I'd be interested to hear their explanation for 3 price increases in 6 months.

for Hong kong, the reasons for the price hikes we guess are as follows, whether the reasons work together or individually:

- China shoppers are extremely strong, they are sweeping the watches like there is no tomorrow
- HK dollars are weak compared to Swiss francs, so Rolex has to up the price to catch up the revenue
- they just don't want that many people to buy their watches !! (?? weird but some wisdom behind it.....)

U.S. based AD told me a couple of days ago to expect another price increase in November. I have no idea whether that is legit or not.

Sub C will not be HKD 80K, I bought one 5 weeks ago MRSP was HKD 59,100 then. No way has it jumped 33%.

I think there was some confusion. usngoat said he paid 8200 for a GMT2. I guess he means USD which would be around HKD 63,800.

btw, a friend of mine who owns an AD says even they (ADs) don't know until any price hike until about 8 p.m. the night before. yep, it's THAT hush hush. so any ADs who say otherwise r pretty much trying the scare tactic into getting a sale asap.

Seems to me there is just a high demand. The activity on TRF confirms that.
