just checked in with some dealers here in hongkong yesterday, Black face Daytona's are now going at HKD95-98k.....

Sub-Cs apparently are not very popular in HongKong, alot of people (including myself) are going for DEEPSEA instead........

and yes, Patek is pumping their price tages up by 7-8% July 15th........

Looks like the prices will keep going higher

the way Rolex terminates ADs, even the long established ones to open their own boutiques.

Geez man, yeah...Even the 2nd hand shops around Tsuen Wan are selling their subs at around $4000 HKD more than they were just 2 months ago! Mental, I tells ya!

Glad I bought mine in early April ...Not so long ago time-wise, but TWO increases ago!!

Where in HK can you find a Daytona? - unless you're a preferred customer or willing to pay $$$ over retail I doubt you will find one.

True, I'm a casino manager in Macau and I see mainlanders losing tens of millions everyday, so much money there now. The Louis Vuitton shop in Wynn Macau has the highest sales of any in the company. God only knows what the Rolex dealers does there. They have some fugly watchs though, bling on bling with extra bling.

yes increase in philippines too, when HK goes up all others will go up too.

anyway the point is this is getting absurd. they are already expensive enough. it's looking a little like extortion.

PARMINE

are you talking about 2nd hand or Brand New Black Daytonas? if you are interested I can refer you to the shop I know. I was there couple days ago and they have 2 black dial daytonas on display, 2nd handed ones.

I am sure they can find a brand new one for you also. of course, as you say it will not be retail price.

I went to the Rolex shop at the Wynn last year and the sales lady said she went through 3-4 boxes of the diamond-encrusted Daytonas in the blink of an eye. The one I tried on was going for $250k oh yeah!!

I'm from Macau too

I live like 5min walk away from Wynn and love to window shop there. I don't think I've ever seen a SS Rolex displayed there

If any of you read the business journals or watched CNBC you would know why this is happening and its not the fault of Rolex at all. All Rolex is doing is making adjustments for the INFLATION that the Far East is experiencing and its net effect on the local currencies. Chinese banks/ China just raised their interest rates again in the last week to try to head off the acceleration of inflation in the Chinese economy.

What happens in China spreads to all the Far East because of China's economic dominance over the region.
