Explorer. Simply put, more timeless and versatile. I don't think you can beat an everyday comfortable watch.
The Milgauss is less comfortable...very very heavy for a Rolex. |

Milgauss GV no contest there
But if you had to choose between the new soon to be released EXII and the Milgauss GV I would go with the EXII. Any other Explorer except a 1016 or a 1655 will not beat a Milgauss GV IMHO.

another thought....i see you have a pam 411 (nice piece!), so you've got the "simplicity" side covered. when looking at all three watches, i think the GV complements the DSSD and 411 much better than the explorer, which will compete with the 411 for simplicity and the DSSD for sport. get something different, go GV.

Was thinking about this too...deciding between the two. Does anyone own both and have a photo or two?

GV for a micrometer!
I`m enamored with Explorer for a lifetime, it`s just those PCL and greenish crystal that I find very attractive!

I'm all about the GV but I'm sensing you really want the Explorer.
Either way seems like a a win/win to me. Nels |

I haven't seen a Milgauss in person. The pictures look to me like it's a dressed down DateJust.
How do they compare in size? Details? I think I might enjoy a high-end comfortable/casual watch. This thread has peeked my interest. I'll have to drop by an AD and try one on. |

As much as i like the explorer, i would go for the GV: something different as Cru Jones stated.... But this not really important: try them and you'll find out right away!!
I went to buy the Explorer 39mm, but walked out with the SubC and never regretted...It'svwhatbeveryone says: the one that sings.... Good luck: let us know! |

I went in to buy one of these two, walked out with the Milgauss and never looked back.
As soon as I tried them on I knew, I suggest you go try them on.

Had a look at both and decided to go for the Explorer 1 last week.
Was tempted because I too was offered a Milgauss but the Explorer is the real classic and the new one is finally big enough :) |

I had both lined up but went for the Explorer. Very versatile for all occasions IMHO. Sounds like you could get a good Milgauss deal though and a GV is a great choice also! Let us know when you go for it and post some pics!
