Never heard anybody say anything about it being wrong or right. I'm a lefty and have always worn my watch on the left wrist...

I'm a lefty and used to wear my watch on the right. Once I started to use computers every day (mid 80's) I switched to the left because using the mouse with the right hand, and having to have the wrist elevated to avoid carpal-tunnel, was too uncomfortable for me.

On a side note I did wear my watch on my ankle for one summer in the 80's. Hey, the "cool' kids did it so...

Cheers,
B.

Haha, was it a Rolex?

I wear my watch on my right and use a computer most days of the week for work.

Doesn't really get in the way.

Do you think I may be damaging my watch by doing this?

My GF is left handed and she wears her Rolex on her right. She wore it on her left at first but I told her it should go on her right hand to be more comfortable and out of the way.

Nope, it was not a Rolex, I think it was a Casio digital.

I don't think you'll damage your watch, you may scratch the bracelet at worst... I found it dug in under my wrist because of the stack of business cards I used to elevate my wrist. This was long before any mouse pad that was "ergonomic".

Cheers,
B.

Left handed, right wrist. Always been this way. Tried left wrist but seemed odd.
Noticed lots of lefties with watch on right side.

Is for those people who think it is utterly wrong to be wearing a watch on your right wrist.

I'm a lefty. Wore my watch on my left hand for years because I liked how it looked with my wedding band. This was pre-computer mouse, though, and wearing a watch on the mouse hand (my left) would definitely bother me.

Now I wear my watch on my right because I stopped wearing my wedding band (tired of my skin peeling under it) and because it's just less in the way.

For anyone to advise anyone else on what wrist to wear their watch - well, that's just silly.

I'm a righty.....always wear mine on my R wrist.

There's obviously no right way (no pun intended ), to each his own...for me it just feels more comfortable on my R wrist

Plus, if McQueen wears his Sub in his R wrist, it can't look that bad

Regards, David

I'm in a strange situation .. I use a pen and pencil with my left hand .. I wear my Rolex with my left hand .. Everything else is done with my right hand .. My Rolex feels normal on my left even though everything is done with my right.

I would think the only change necessary to produce a "right-handed" version would be a different (up-side down as such) date wheel.

Left handed and always wear watch on right wrist. Agree it can drag when using a mouse, but if I wore it on the left it would drag when I write (which I still do, when jotting down notes in a meeting, etc.). Completely unrelated, but I like having a wedding band on the left and a watch on the right so it balances out (not too much metal on one side).

P.S. YAY! First post!

i do!! i am lefty... i do everything left sided and it feels awkward with it on my right wrist and + i have a titanium plate in my right wrist from a motorcycle accident and its slightly larger the wrist size. So yes, i prefer it on my left wrist, comfortable.

Left handed and wears watch on left hand. Feels and looks completely normal to me.

Tried putting the SD on the right hand, felt like a block of steel tied on to my wrist.

Left handed here....I do wear it on the right. Timely thread here! I tried last week just for giggles to wear it on my left hand for the whole day and couldn't get through ONE HOUR. It felt extremely weird and uncomfortable. Which is strange, because I'm left handed! You would think the dominant hand would be the most receptive to wearing the watch...but what the heck do I know!

Im left handed. I've been wearing my watch on my right wrist for as long as I can remember. Probably started when I was only about 7. Just two weeks ago I got a mild case of poison ivy on my right wrist. I had to move my watch to my left wrist to avoid irritating the rash. It felt very odd.

i thought the point of not wearing a watch on your 'strong' hand was to minimise the chance of it getting in the way or damaged as obviously we use mostly our 'strong' hand to interact with other objects/people etc..
