Datejust
I think I've finally settled on a new DJ, an upgrade from my 16013. How many others of you are date just aficionados? And any thoughts on the DJ2? Thanks.

I love my DJ but have to admit I'd like to try on a DJII, especially since I recently bought a 40mm EXP II. Sometimes my 36 mm DJ seems a little small since my EXP has become my daily wearer. MY only issue with the DJII is the PCLs. Sure wish Rolex would offer it with a Jubilee bracelet.

I love the full DJ line wether it's a 36mm or the II. It's such a classic look that Rolex themselves use it as it's marketing image at most sporting events they sponsor. It's also the most versatile with respect to dial selections. I'm a little partial to the DJII having just picked this one up yesterday.

I love my SS/DJ 36mm silver dial with stick I bought a few years ago. I was in the AD yesterday as the wife was getting some Pandora bracelet pieces and I had every opportunity to try on the DJII but did not because I am afraid I will like it so much that I will obsess over it until I finally get one. I just cannot afford one this decade I think. The DJII looks awesome! It seems the crown may be a bit small though for that sized case but just my opinion and I would not let that sway me from getting one if I had the dough.

DJ is such a nice, simple, clean, pretending, humble, sporty, formal, spicy, sweet, bitter watch!
This one is one of the latest DJII that I like most (picture and watch are not mine! ) datejustii.jpg |

I'm an absolute hardcore Datejust fan. The Datejust and Submariner are without a doubt the most iconic models Rolex offers. No offense to Explorer, Yachtmasters, etc. When I think Rolex, I think DJ or Submariner.

I have had so many DJs. The only one I have kept and never sold is the 16013. Far lighter on the wrist than the 16233 and 116233. It's my daily beater, and I often forget I'm wearing it.

I completley agree with you on the 16013's comfort, how light it is and how easy it is to forget your wearing it. The TTDJ is my perfect watch, and that's why I want a new one. I also love the jubilee bracelet, hence my hesitance for the DJII. But I could keep the 16013 and get the DJII. And I'm blown away bu that pic Brenngun...it looks stunning! So to the DJII owners, how does it feel on the wrist?

Love my DateJust2 as well. Make's a great dress watch and very comfortable to wear. Best for occasions that you will like a bit of "bling"

Looking forward to your posting a photo of whatever you choose. I have 6 3/4" wrists and the DJ II is just a little too big for my liking, not so if you are a bigger guy maybe.
I will say that the 36 mm with fluted bezel on a Super Jubilee is iconic and classic Rolex. Just today my doctor commented that it was the definition of a Rolex in his mind. |

I'm a 16013 owner and fan myself! I actually prefer the classic 36mm size to the DJ-II but that's just me.
P.S.: Must I assume you also like Huey Lewis And The News?

And yeah, I'm 37, no spring chicken lol. I'm glad to see not everyone on the forum is a die-hard-submariner-or-bust fan. I really want to like the Sub, but I have a Planet Ocean and I'm not sure how enthused I am about divers watches. It really doesn't seem like a versatile watch to me.

My first Rolex was a DJ, but I found the Subs and quickly fell in love with them, love my DSSD, but checked out a DJ II tonite and wow a sweet watch!
I went in thinking of buying back my old DJ 116200 that I traded as part of the DSSD deal last June, but didn't buy anything, the 116200 being 36mm just seemed small on my wrist, the DSSD doesn't help the case.

Yeah, I understand that. My 42mm Omega PO feels and looks good, I'm starting to wonder about the 36mm size. What was your impression of the DJII? Impressive? Proportional? A watch you could never get tired of looking at?

I was impressed, I thought it looked good on my wrist, not as big as my DSSD but not small like a 36mm, it looked good.

Nice!! I have a 116234. I tried on the DJ2 but found it too big for me.
