Upset About the New Pepsi

I was hoping Rolex would remake the pepsi with a ceramic bezel and new bracelet, but they've also decided to make it in white gold!

There's no way I will be able to reasonably afford one. Well, at least I scored four touchdowns in a single game once.

Anyone else as frustrated as I am?

I don't need a white gold ceramic bezel one. I have this.

How much mileage do you think you can get out of your "Avatar?"

I think your a week late on this...I think everybody already vented about either if it was a good idea or not. Most dislike it, most agree with rolex as it's a good idea, and the ones that can afford it have no problem with it. But it is what it is, it's the iconic gmt that is only ment for the few now.
Me....I'm just hoping that they don't bring the "coke" version in platinum.

By the way, how's Peggy and the kids??

Are we still doing the WG Pepsi debate? I figured we'd be on to the 2015 Basel predictions by now.

The Pepsi edition will come. Rolex knows what it is doing from the marketing point of view. Give it a few years and a stainless steel version will be released... And then it will immediately sell out with little discount.

The Pepsi will be available in steel eventually.

There really is no reason that it shouldn't, as Rolex would be missing out on a huge market.

It is after all a tool watch and it deserves to made of a material that lends itself to that purpose.

The pepsi has been white gold for a while now. Only a piece of red and blue ceramic has replaced the sapphires and rubies. I doubt it will be released in SS. Then what would be the point in the white gold model? This is like asking when a black ceramic SS Sub will be released in white gold.

Not upset in the slightest, and I'm a GMT fan that won't spend the money for a WG one.

Amazing the arrogance thinking that somehow Rolex has "wronged them" by what they do......

Not bothered. Even if they offered a ceramic SS Pepsi, I would still prefer aluminium.

I disagree the BLRO will come out in stainless. If Rolex does that they might as well discontinue every WG model they make because they'll never sell another one and they'll have a bunch of pissed off customers that would likely never buy any Rolex again - and these are the customers that buy the precious metal models.

I just don't see Rolex doing that. They have never made a stainless version of any watch that looks just like the WG model. What would make anyone think they will with this one?

Nope. Not going to happen.

Why hasn't rolex released a SS Smurf or an SS Daytona with the ice blue dial and brown ceramic bezel? Rolex puts special dials and bezels on the gold and platinum models to visually set them apart from the SS models.

The only reason people seem to think they will is because they could sell a ton of them. But I doubt Rolex overlooked that point and it doesn't take into consideration all the LN's and BLNR's they won't sell if they make a stainless Pepsi. Plus factor in alienating the market for WG in any model, and I just don't see it happening.

The bezel on the WG PepC didn't by itself eliminate the possibility of a stainless model. But also putting the WG model out in black dial really killed any chance of a SS Pepsi.

After looking at Tom's, Mike's and Ken's smurf sub. I have to say that I am happy that the Pepsi comes white gold. The material looks so special, it has that warm yellowish glow in certain lighting conditions. It is simply amazing.

You couldn't be more wrong... on all points. Rolex will never make a white gold model or its colors in steel.
