Recent trip to an AD

Stopped by Leeds and Sons while on vacation today in Palm Desert. Very nice people and great selection. Upon walking through the doors I noticed a nice lady purchasing a PP (couldn't tell what it was but most likely a gift) and she looked at me (noticed my 5167A) and said, "He's a Patek Philippe guy too." That made me and the sales associate chuckle.

The Patek section was small but had a few I wanted to try on. Just thought I'd share. The YG Calatrava was my fave followed by the RG 5712

Love the 3rd one (plat or WG), especially the arabic numbers. Could you tell me the ref#?

Reference is 5196P (platinum)

Super thin piece. I like the way it looked in the display better than how it looked on my wrist.

Say hello to Holli for me. She rocks. That is one of the nicest and best PP ADs I know. They will bend over backwards for you. And, they will not act like they are holier than thou. Down to earth people. This is a ringing endorsement for them. I hope your experience was similar.

I'm torn b/t the 5396G and the 5227G. The 5396 I can get for 39K. The 5227 is a tiffany co branded piece.

That dial is amazing, very clean.
How did you find the 5196p?
The 5196g felt a bit flat to me and was one of the reasons I sold mine but the platinum version has such an amazing dial.

I felt it was a bit flat also, that's a great way to describe it. Such a beautiful reference but didn't like the way it looked or wore on me.

There just didn't seem any depth to it and when you looked at the profile it didn't look correctly proportioned. To wide and flat but no depth.

Tough choice. I love the clean time/date only dial of the 5227G but complications are what Patek does best. I'd choose the 5396G.

The 5396 is the best Patek I've seen, ticked all the boxes but is currently out of my price range.
I ve been thinking about a 5711 or 5296 but I may hold on for longer and aim higher! I've already got a 5167 and 5146 to tied me over.

Not an easy choice. The price is right but tough decision.

I agree. For me it would depend on what else I had in my collection and in my bank account My choice would be SS.

Loved it. First time I tried on the Nautilus with a strap. Very comfortable.

I felt the same way, although I felt it fit my 6.5" perfectly

Your welcome! Yes, they were very nice people. Unfortunately being a two hour drive would make visiting often impossible.

It's pretty amazing in the flesh although I prefer the 5205G for an AC.

It's stunning although that piece in RG and on strap is not necessarily my style. I'd go for the bracelet in a heartbeat if I could stomach the price.

I love the platinum but no exhibition back. I think your instincts on the YG are on target!

It's a beautiful watch for sure. Love the Breguet numerals.
