The crown, crown guards, and lugs look off....kinda hard to tell from the angle though.

The plexi is the not. The 16800 is supposed to have flat sapphire glass.

Spot the not... For the Rolex Guru's

Correct the watch is very real, as it was purchased from Jacek about a month ago. And the plexi is the not! I spent some time with a watchmaker friend of mine yesterday getting doing a sapphire to plexi conversion to give it a more vintage appeal.

Sexy original matte dial and hands prepped for the new plexi

Looking for that perfect plexi. Left is the original sapphire that came on it, middle is a 1680 factory one and on the right is an infamous SUPERDOME

.

We settled on the 1680. The SUPERDOME is just a hair to small and wouldn't fit.... Unfortunately!

.

Sealed it back up, and into the chamber she went for a pressure test. 2 bar later, she's ready to go!

.

And here she is...

.

I believe the one you are referring to as a superdome is actually a top hat. Nice result, love the plexi.

wow I had no idea the 1680 plexi was swappable to the 16800.
I thought the 16800 dial and circumference was bigger

Also plexi looks a bit low.. is it because the 16800 bezel assembly is thicker?

Here is my service T127 on my 1680

To me it's like putting a stinger hood on a 67 vette with a small block in it....It looks good, but isn't right....

+1......... I'd never do it. I love original. Cars and watches. I struggle with the thought of buying a watch without papers.

But, it's the OP's watch so he can do with it as he sees fit.
