Help Me Pick! DJII vs ????

Hello!

Another poll....

I love the DateJust II two-tone, steel/gold Arabic numerals.

But now I'm debating now, on whether just saving more money and get an all gold president.

I currently have a sub c and pam 112. I tried on a 36mm and it looks great on my wrist.

I dont have the loot for a brand new 41mm or 40mm President, so vintage or early 2000 model it is(on a rough scan of the interwebs, looks like one can be had for under 16k) or a brand new DJII ???

What are your thoughts??

Thank you,

All comes down to what makes your heart beat faster...take some time and try to figure out what it is your heart desires.

You already have two sporty everyday watches. So a all gold would be a nice addition. i almost have the same collection as you and i'm currently looking for buy a DD 118238 or 18238 i want to see if the extra gold actually is worth the price difference.

I love my DJ II and its my everyday beater, while my PAM is my sports beater if im going to do anything more active or go on vacation.

You wont be disappointed in one of those DD models though.

All Gold is my suggestion but be careful as your other watches will sit idle.

Do you know when they started making them with solid links? What size would the 118238 be?

Based on your collection, I would go with an old President model. Really nothing quite like the Day-Date.

Go for an early 118238 even if you have to save a little more. The updated clasp and solid links is much more worth it. if your lucky you can get one for 15-16k

It all depends on how comfortable you are wearing all gold. For me I find steel easier to pull off even over my 70s vintage DD.

The only concern that I have with the 36mm day date is the case size. I have really gotten accustomed to the 40mm and larger case size, so for this reason, I choose the 116333. However, the day date is iconic, and solid gold wears REALLY well. Tough call.

I noticed that in the thread for fluted or smooth DJII I started; voting heavily favored fluted but comment heavily the other way. Seems like the minority opinions are loud on this forum. For me the DJII is more striking than the 36mm DDs.
