Milsub with a replacement Case??

Milsub with a replacement Case?? First time for me. So when they replaced the case, does Rolex install the permanent spring bars?

Not inconceivable. Have seen a replacement Comex that Rolex made, so why not a mil sub case?

I think you'd perhaps want the service paperwork to support it though, as a watch that needs explaining is always a harder sell when the time comes to move on.

At that price point id pay to have it examined by Rolex and if it checks out I'd buy it on the spot no questions asked.

It's from Shear's eBay acct, so it's safe to say it's legit. Papers would help. Wonder what the dial and caseback alone are worth?

It's hard to say...originality is a big thing with collectors. And I am pretty sure they don't plan on getting to a point where they wear out their milsub especially to the point the dial and case back need to be swapped.

I do think its worth more than he is asking...if its real. I am sure he knows what its worth...this guy is no idiot....there is a reason he did not go to Rolex for a $700 service on a watch that could be worth almost 100k... I am a little suspicious on this one. A service paper would go a long way.

theres been AT least a couple sold before with replacement cases , i sold one fully documented a few years ago.

the fixed bars were contracted out to stave hale in lodnon who laser welded them in for Rolex , not 100% correct but did the job.

price point of course substantially below an original case and will obviously be decided by the market , but there are plenty of people who will buy and enjoy a mismatched case, a polished back etc etc at the right price point ….beauty is in the eye of the beholder

How much do sword hands command, if you can find them?

Full sets of sword hands passed five figures a while ago in my opinion, and would be likely to move only one way from there. Finding a willing seller, though, will be rather trying!
