I just love my Seiko 5 Sea Urchin. It's my daily wear watch. Just purchased a 50th Anniversary edition Seiko 5 GMT.

$47 vs $3500

I have a Seiko 5, with day/date function and driven by 7S26 movement. The retail price for the watch was 47 dollars. I have been wearing it as my beater watch and it holds up to the abuse. The thing that amazes me most is that I had an IWC Mark XV, which goes for around 3500 dollars. I've had the Seiko for about a year and it has worked flawlessly. If you compare the IWC and Seiko (like I did) the quality of the materials and workmanship, the durability, accuracy, weight is very similar. But is the IWC $3452 better than the $47 Seiko? Absolutely not, at least in my opinion

One more thing, I wouldn't be surprised if the Seiko movement was as good or better than the generic ETA in the Mark XV.

The Mk XV does not have just a generic ETA...

I love my Seiko 5. Keeps great time. I think the Bond movie you are referring to is "For Your Eyes Only." I know Roger Moore wore several Seiko watches when he played as Bond.

Picked up this one on Saturday. I wanted a dress watch, and had been after the right quartz for me. This seemed to tick all the right boxes.
