Insert Advice

Had this insert thrown in with a deal I did on a 5513 some time ago and never really rated it as I assumed it had been artificially aged, recently dug it out and put it on a 1665. Anybody know what it started out life as? Long 5 maybe?

Standard MKIII - unsure if artificially aged or not - could go either way

There is no question that some chemical fell onto the insert.
Was it intentional or unintentional?
It's hard to prove intention.

The question comes down to do you like it or not?

Agreed. The spots (bleach?) are a give-away. Still, a very nice look!

Cheers guys, That was my opinion that it had been interfered with so I was'nt too keen but as it cost me nothing I thought I would give it a run out. I must say it looks much better normal size on the wrist and the dark grey dial of the 1665 suits it better than the inky black 5513.

I think it looks good, I'd run with it for awhile!

Tsk tsk, and people call my sweet Mickey Mouse 1601 a franken! :)

It's fun to mix things up occasionally.

Yep the back is black thats why I was scratching my head, I suppose it could have been painted on the front which is why you can see what looks like droplets, but as I said on the wrist and normal size it doesnt look bad!

It doesn't look like one of the artificially accelerated jobs to me. It's just had a life, IMHO

Artificial for sure. The interior of the circle is faded more than the middle when it shouldn't be. Plus the spots as others have mentioned
