Back to Rolex and I'm not going back...

Hi all, wanted to share the latest and say hello to all on a great forum. I get a kick out of reading this forum and seeing that there are people out there just like me. OCD, fixators, neurotic, and such. On with the show and tell- I have a couple of new pieces and their back-stories.

I had a 16600 that I wore daily for nearly 11 years as my one and only.

I started eyeing the Speedmaster Pro Sapphire and traded it in at my local AD. Not impressed. Sold the watch at a significant loss after 3 months and 4 trips to Omega service center.

While at the AD for the 4th return of the Speedmaster, he asks 'Why don't you get another Rolex?' I tried on the SubC and was sold. Purchased it on the spot.

The SubC is an amazing watch. After owning the Seadweller pre-ceramic for over a decade I have to say the new lines of Rolex watches are impressive to say the least.

Then, about a month later the AD rings me and says he has a Black Dial Daytona 116500. How can you say no? Ok, the wife did but that's neither here nor there.

So, that's the story. Loving them both and don't think I will ever be without a Rolex. Now that 116719BLRO is just amazing and thinking I 'need' that in my life.

Anyhow, glad to be back.

Thanks all! There is just honestly something special about Rolex. The Speedy was a beautiful watch, no doubt, and I may have just had a misfit.

What really made me realize the Rolex difference was the difference in function and performance of the Lemania 1863 in the Speedy vs the Daytona's 4130. Granted, two completely different price points so it's not really a fair comparison, but it does make me realize that yes there is quite a difference in refinement and function that you get with the price difference of the Daytona.

Before owning a chronograph without a vertical clutch and column wheel I wasn't sure there world be any real world difference in the the two movements. What a world apart. Not an indictment of the Speedy at all, but more of an appreciation of the refinement of the 4130 movement.

Nice pieces and a fair bit of luck. A lot of guys are still awaiting their Daytona orders.

Careful with pictures of the Sebenza. The forum doesn't react favorably as its against forum rules.

Congrats and welcome back!

There are some VERY nice Lemania based chronos with as much (if not more) of a history of reliability and refinement.

If it makes everyone feel any better, I have a nearly 20 year relationship with the AD that I purchased mine from so just for those frustrated by the wait, as I would be, your call will come.

I have sampled many brands over the past 20 years or so - definitely keeping a Rolex or two in the stable. The only other brand that I'll keep as stablemates will be Omega.

You guys are killing me with the BLRO pictures. I am completely obsessed. I've watched every YouTube video and read almost every Turf post about this watch. Should be content with what I have... this is not good.
